Zero: The Biography Of A Dangerous Idea
by Charles Seife

On a first glance one might assume a book about a single number will be boring and dismiss it. This book however is far from boring. It discusses everything from the history of Zero to it's relationships with religion, science and even its mysterious cousin Infinity. Seife also uses light humor and the occasional illustration to keep things interesting. This and his book
Alpha and Omega are definitly two great math/science/history reads.

Brick (DVD)

This film is definitly one of the better movies I have seen lately. To put it simply it's a story about a high school kid trying to solve the murder of his ex-girlfriend. And along the way cliques, drugs, money, love and violence keep adding twists to the seemingly simple story.
